Imprisoned veterans of the IRA's Border Campaign and EOKA Fighters of the Enosis of the same period were reunited in Dublin in May to mark the launch of a book by former EOKA prisoner Vias Livadas entitled; Cypriot & Irish Political Prisoners. It recalls the relationships which developed between both sets of prisoners incarcerated in English prisons due to their respective activities in their national liberation struggles. Familiar themes of escapes, hungerstrikes, vindictive British regimes, the perseverance of the revolutionary spirit and ultimately reunuion permeate the book with some fascinating insights into how both sets of prisoners adapted to their imprisonment in a foreign country. Phil O'Donoghue Honorary President of the 32CSM, RSF representatives, former prisoners of the period and relatives of deceased activists were in attendance.
